Not far from Mcleod Ganj and Naddi, in the deodar and pine forest near Forsyth Ganj, is St John’s Church in the Wilderness.

It is a short walk of about 10-15 minutes from either Mcleodganj or Naddi, on the road to lower Dharamshala.

This small stone church, with it’s beautiful stained glass windows, dates from 1852 and is one of the few buildings remaining from the time of the British rule in India. This beautiful Belgium stained glass was donated to the church by Lady Elgin.
